Summer Attractions And Events In Wanaka

Wanaka is nestled on the banks of Lake Wanaka in one of the most spectacular backdrops in New Zealand. It is the gateway to Mount Aspiring and therefore accommodation to suit every budget is catered for. If you are one who prefers to push your limits there are a series of sporting events during the ‘Summer Send Off Festival’ including a triathlon where you can test your mettle with the three disciplines involved, a multisport race – for which you need to a proficient kayaker, and for the bikers there is a criterium which is open to grades A – D and the Outdoor Sports Alpine Classic which consists of a 140km road race for Grades A and B. Make sure you take some time out from all this activity to take in the awe inspiring scenery from this magnificent region.

If you are looking for something a big different and like quirky you could visit Puzzling World. This place is full of puzzling eccentricity with everything not quite what is the norm you’re sure to have plenty of fun and test the mind!. It’s only two miles from Wanaka but allow a couple of hours to fully explore this wacky and puzzling attraction.

If you are looking to catch up on a bit of golf you’ll have a great day at the picturesque 18-hole Wanaka Golf Course. Not only is there a great golf course but the stunning views make an ordinary round into some extraordinary.
